When I worked in a office, we always had the radio on. Each day we would tune in to various different radio stations with the aerial at different heights and angles to try and get some kind of sound. It was great to be able to work while listening to music. It’s been years since I worked in a office, but recently I have been trying to sort out my home office space. I found my dream vintage bureau on gumtree for £25 a couple of months ago. As yet I have not even sat down to work at it, I continue to sit in our arm chair balancing my MacBook on my lap or on the arm of the chair.
So this weekend the Mother-in-law had the children for a couple of hours, the Hubby was out, so I used the opportunity to sort out my beloved desk. To make it somewhere that I could happily work that was space just for me. Not forgetting to find space for my new retro style radio to sit.
When VQ got in touch with me to ask if I would like to bring music back into my daily life, instead of just in the car or listening to various disney songs. How could I say no?
VQ are a purely British company, designed and engineered in the UK. It’s great because so many companies now out source across the globe, so it’s lovely to work with a purely British company.
My VQ Radio
I love the retro style, I have lots of vintage items in our home, so the VQ style is perfect for me. A vintage style with all the mod cons. Retro vintage DAB digital radios that come with built in blue tooth speakers and even docking stations. I opted for the Hepburn MKII which is a DAB digital radio with build in blue tooth speakers and a USB charging port. The Hepburn is available in 18 different designs, so there is going to be something that you fall in love with. I chose the Emma Bridgewater Wallflower design, as I love Emma Bridgewater items and especially the Wallflower.
Since my radio has arrived, I have found myself sitting at my newly organised desk listening to various digital radio stations that I have never listen to before. While working away in a much more productively. The sound quality from my VQ Hepburn MKII radio is excellent, so clear I’ve not had any issues with it finding radio stations. I have also used the bluetooth function to play some music from my iPhone, again something that I have never done before. You are able to buy an add on battery pack, which will give you 25 hours of listening time. Which is perfect for taking out in to the garden during the summer months when I’m doing abit of gardening, or enjoying the sun with a BBQ.
Having my new VQ radio has completely changed my music listening and made me more focused to sit at my desk and work while choosing a radio station. I always love Chris Moyles when he was on Radio 1, I used to listen to him every morning while traveling to work or on the school run, now I am able to listen to him again on Radio X, I couldn’t be happier.
