Bonfire party with Fentimans Ginger Beer

For the last few years we have had a fireworks and bonfire party at our house. My Hubby loves fireworks displays and we go most years to the Fire Works Championships at Belvior Castle. We decided that while the children we young we would have fireworks at our house, saves all the muddy fields and the hour sat in the car waiting to get out of the car park after. We are lucky enough to have a large garden with plenty of space for the men folk to sort the fireworks out up at the top of the garden and keep all the children safe nearer the house.

We invite our nearest and dearest, cook up hot dogs for the children and a big chilli with jacket potatoes and cheese for the adults, then we have few drinks after the sparklers and fireworks have finished. I also this year made some very yummy cinder toffee and toffee apples. Not forgetting toasting the marshmallows… so many marshmallows.

Fentimans Ginger BeerIn recent month’s my Hubby has got the taste for rum, the perfect warming tipple for a cold November’s evening. So, when Fentimans sent us some ginger beer to help us celebrate our bonfire party, I knew that the rum and ginger beer would make the perfect combination for a warming drink for our fireworks party.

Bonfire Cocktail

When I think of bonfire night, I instantly think toffee apples and nice warm drinks. So my lovely bonfire cocktail is just that, toffee flavours and warms you up as your drink. It is very simple to make, with only a couple of elements. After the party, it’s good to detoxify your body from drinking some beer and this link might help.

Add ice into your glass, I used my gorgeous Moscow mule copper mugs. Then a measure of dark rum, be generous to give you that lovely warming feeling. Top it up with Fentimans ginger beer. I then added a shard of my toffee, which when dropped in gives sweet toffee flavour to the cocktail… yummy. Why not add a sparklier for the extra special bonfire party feel, just make sure you take it out before you drink it. The rum and Ginger Beer make the perfect bonfire cocktail.

Why not have a go at making your own Ginger Beer inspired cocktail?

My gorgeous gold light box from Gingersnap and giveaway

For months if not years I have been wanting a light box, I see them all over my Instagram feed. I’m not sure why I like them, as they are not really my kinda thing. However for some odd reason I am drawn to these little boxes of light, to share little messages of love or announcements with people. There have been the bright white boxes about for a while now, with the standard bold black letters, of course I wanted something different, something a bit more me.

GingerSnap light boxes

When GingerSnap got in touch asking if I would like to review one of their light boxes, the first thing I did was see what they had to offer. I was pleasantly surprise to see a few options for me with the A4 gold wooden light box jumping out at me straight away.

Gingersnap not only have the gold, they have mint green, pale pink, grey, black and of course white. They also some in 2 different sizes, the large A4 an the smaller A5, perfect for sitting on the kitchen side to leave notes to the family.

Each of GingerSnap’s light boxes come with the standard bold black letters, but they also offer an range of letter packs. Extra black letters, coloured letters, emoji symbols and my favourite pack the rose gold letter pack. I can honestly say I was so happy when I spotted the rose gold letters to go with the gold light box, the perfect combination for me.

My gold light box

When my parcel arrive from Gingersnap I couldn’t wait to try it out. It arrived with a USB cable but no mains plug so make sure you have an adaptor, I just used my iphone plug. When I plugged it in I couldn’t believe how bright it was. It looked fabulous up against the gold wood.

The A4 Rose Gold Letter Pack that I had ordered along with the light box, was lovely. Each letter in an italic style font, very feminine style, perfect for my style.

The light box itself is well made, a lovely gold colour in A4 paper size. It’s going to make the perfect addition to my French Dresser in the family room.

Light box lover

I am so pleased that I now have this lovely light box. It’s going to be perfect for every occasion, birthdays, hen parties, mile stones in life, announcements, leaving notes for the family. I can’t wait to use it for Halloween and Christmas this year.

My only wish for the light box would be that it had a little draw in the back to store all of the letters in. As I have got to find a smallish box to keep them all in, before the children get hold of them and they end up all over the house.

My beautiful new light box is the perfect addition to my home and I’m very much looking forward to using it for every given opportunity.

When I first got engaged I was so excited to start with the planning of the wedding. As my regular readers will know I love stationary, so it should be no surprise to you that finding a note book for planning my wedding was top of the list.

I love finding a fabulous new company that fills my heart with joy and my bank account with dread. Somewhere that I can spend one to many hours looking at beautiful items, while the children are in bed. Rooi offer me everything I want, beautiful gifts for my friends (and me. Items for the home, some of their bedding ranges are stunning, I cannot wait to move house to splash out on them. Then items for my home office but for any office adding that little something a bit luxurious and special. Not forgetting a great range of Katie Spade items for weddings.

I had seen Rooi over on both Twitter and Instagram. Filling my feeds with the most beautiful items for both your home and your office. While browsing their website I fell in love with a floral range that they stock by BAN.DO. The rose parade is perfect for wedding planning, especially as it has the beautiful floral feel that so many brides to be are after at the moment. Note books, pens, pencil cases, water bottles, even a matching gym bag, so you can hit the gym in style.

I love lists and making your wedding check list is one of the most important ones you could possibly make. So, take some time to yourself, make a drink and head out in the garden sit down and start planning. I always think that having the the right equipment is all part of the fun. When it comes to the right equipment for wedding planning, I think this BAN.DO collect is perfect.

A beautiful note book, set of pretty pens. A lovely pencil case, not only good for your pretty pens but for all of the business cards you will pick up visiting wedding shows. Then a thermal drinks holder for when you are heading out to visit different companies to keep the caffeine levels topped up when making those important decisions.

What do you think to my wedding planning collection? I love it, the quality of the items is fabulous and I would highly recommend ordering items from Rooi. In fact I have my eyes on some of their photo frames that I plan to order soon.
