I love a going to a traditional pub, open fire places, exposed brick work and a warm cosy feel. Over the years having exposed brick work within your own home has changed, it become popular to plaster over everything to make it look pristine.
Now, however it is becoming popular to add brick work into your home. Not only in older properties or for warehouse styled interiors but also in a more modern family home. I now know a few people that have had large extensions completed and had one wall what looks like an internal l brick wall. When in fact it is a brick tile or brick slip that are tiled onto the wall and looks just like an external brick look. It honestly looks fabulous.
Feature Wall – brick slips
Feature Wall UK are a company that specialise in brick tiles, brick slips and stone veneers. I love the idea of having a log burner sat within a traditional looking chimney fire place, with exposed brick work. Using Feature Wall UK’s brick slips or tiles I can have that traditional look within a more modern house as their tiles are heat resistant, just perfect for a log burner.
It means you are able to build a chimney breast within your home using plaster boards and then use the brick or even stone slips to create something that looks fabulous but is also affordable.
The brick slips are not only suitable for in doors, but they are weather proof so they are perfect for outdoors. Many people are using them to add to the render on their homes, to add a little bit of extra design.
The brick slips are not only a cost effective way to add character to your home they are so lightweight and suitable for those who DIY lovers as they are easily fitted.
I love the idea of adding a more traditional brick slip to the back of a fire place for a log burner to sit in. It is definitely going onto my list of must haves for our forever home. What do you think to adding some brick slips to your home?
