Wedding planning with Rooi

When I first got engaged I was so excited to start with the planning of the wedding. As my regular readers will know I love stationary, so it should be no surprise to you that finding a note book for planning my wedding was top of the list.

I love finding a fabulous new company that fills my heart with joy and my bank account with dread. Somewhere that I can spend one to many hours looking at beautiful items, while the children are in bed. Rooi offer me everything I want, beautiful gifts for my friends (and me. Items for the home, some of their bedding ranges are stunning, I cannot wait to move house to splash out on them. Then items for my home office but for any office adding that little something a bit luxurious and special. Not forgetting a great range of Katie Spade items for weddings.

I had seen Rooi over on both Twitter and Instagram. Filling my feeds with the most beautiful items for both your home and your office. While browsing their website I fell in love with a floral range that they stock by BAN.DO. The rose parade is perfect for wedding planning, especially as it has the beautiful floral feel that so many brides to be are after at the moment. Note books, pens, pencil cases, water bottles, even a matching gym bag, so you can hit the gym in style.

I love lists and making your wedding check list is one of the most important ones you could possibly make. So, take some time to yourself, make a drink and head out in the garden sit down and start planning. I always think that having the the right equipment is all part of the fun. When it comes to the right equipment for wedding planning, I think this BAN.DO collect is perfect.

A beautiful note book, set of pretty pens. A lovely pencil case, not only good for your pretty pens but for all of the business cards you will pick up visiting wedding shows. Then a thermal drinks holder for when you are heading out to visit different companies to keep the caffeine levels topped up when making those important decisions.

What do you think to my wedding planning collection? I love it, the quality of the items is fabulous and I would highly recommend ordering items from Rooi. In fact I have my eyes on some of their photo frames that I plan to order soon.

*This post was made in collaboration with Rooi, thank you for sending me out this beautiful collection. As always thoughts and opinions are my own.*

How to pick the perfect engagement ring…

Congratulations, you’re engaged! Although your mind is probably running with all of the different things that you’ve got to plan, there’s one thing that you may want to sort out before you start on your wedding planning checklist. And that’s to pick out your perfect engagement ring. Sometimes, your now fiancé will have chosen something for you, but when he wants you to choose something for yourself, you’ve got a lot of decisions to make. Not only are you going to want to find something that you love, but you’re also going to want to choose a ring that will last you a lifetime.

Do some research…

First of all, to get you off on the right foot, you’re going to want to make sure that you do some research. So head to a range of informative sites such as Your Diamond Guru that can help you out. When you first think about choosing your ring, you can feel a bit overwhelmed. There are so many different rings that you could think about getting, that it’s possible you’re not entirely sure which will be the one for you. But by doing some research, you’ll be able to narrow things down.

Choose the metal band…

With your mind a little more clued up on all of your options, it’s time to start making some firmer choices. The first of which is going to be your choice of metal. Whether you go for silver, gold, or platinum, you may also want to think about the colour – especially when it comes to gold. With gold, you could go for white gold, yellow gold, or even rose gold. So, you’re going to want to choose a colour that suits your style and taste the most.

Choose the cut of the diamond…

Now that you’ve got the color and metal chosen, you’re also going to want to think about the shape of the diamond itself, known as the cut. There are lots of diamond cuts that you could consider, based on your own preferences. Whether you like the classic square shape or a more modern pear, you’re going to want to figure out what shapes you like the most to help narrow down your search.

Maybe even the colour of the stone…

You may also want to think about the colour of the diamond too. A lot of the time, you’ll see a lot of clear diamonds used within engagement rings. But they are not your own choice. Coloured diamonds can look just as stunning too. You may even decide that you want to go with an emerald or a sapphire, rather than a diamond itself.

Think about your budget…

By narrowing down your preferences on the metal, diamond cut, and color, you’re getting a lot closer to finding your perfect engagement ring. But now, the rest you should choose based on your budget. To some, the clarity and carat size of the diamond will matter, but not to everyone. So make sure you stick to your budget when you’re making these final choices on your diamond engagement ring.

London hen party fun

When most people think of hen parties, they tend to think of ladies getting a little messy on a wild weekend away. However, some people prefer to keep things classier and more sophisticated. Whether you’re a bridesmaid accommodating a bride with more refined tastes or you’re the bride-to-be taking control, London is one of the best places for a hen party that’s a little bit better in just about every way.

London Hen Party

Bridesmaid duties…

We don’t choose bridesmaids just because they’re some of the people closest in the world to us. They’re supposed to help us and in organising the hen party they can be of a lot of help. London’s a big city and it can get confusing, so make sure bridesmaids are each playing a role in coordination with each other. One can be in charge of finding accommodation closest to the things the bride wants to do, for instance, while another organises the use of the city’s extensive public transport system, making it easier by buying Oyster cards.

Let’s go shopping…

Beyond an entertainment and nightlife mecca, London is one of the fashion capitals of the UK. Everyone getting themselves a little extra to take home with them is going to ensure that they’re getting more than they might have expected from the trip. You don’t have to urge anyone to spend, of course. You can make it a little easier if you’re taking some of the London shopping tours that stop by some of the smaller boutiques or even thrift shops instead of just the high-street famous brands. In London, so long as you’re in the right area, you’ll be able to find good additions for just about any price.

Just the girls

The nightlife is not something to be underestimated in the city, either. There’s a whole range of classy, sophisticated bars and lively clubs to be found. If you want to make it truly special, however, skip mingling with the locals. Think about more exclusive nightlife options like getting on the Cuckoo club guest list in advance. You don’t want your time together spoiled by people hitting on the bridesmaids or losing some of the party in amongst the crowd. Instead, treat yourself to a little pampering and special treatment from the staff. The high-end clubs can make you feel like a star, even if it is for a night.

Day time fun

The city is best experienced for more than just a night. If you can organise it, make sure you have plenty of time to explore it in the day, as well. Not just for the shopping but the sheer amount of entertainment, often free, that’s available on the streets. If you want to keep the high-flying air of sophistication up, for instance, stopping by the Globe Theatre or having a day at the May Fair Spa is always recommended.

London gives you the chance to experience a hen party like nowhere else in the UK. Whether it’s enjoying the pleasures of an exclusive club with just your favourite ladies for company or exploring the wealth of daytime activities the city has to offer.
