Eynsham Hall the Oxford Wedding venue of dreams

Arriving at Eynsham Hall down the long drive way and seeing the Hall coming into view, its just WOW. I cannot imagine how anyone seeing the Hall for the first time would not be thinking wow, it’s just breathtaking. I know that the wow factor is something that most couples want for their wedding and just the first sight of the venue will do that for you and your guests. That wow factor does not just stop at the view!

Eynsham Hall

Entering Eynsham Hall you step into grandeur of the old hall, with a fabulous modern twist. Wood panelled walls, old book cases, police memorabilia, splashes of copper and yet ocher coloured chairs in the contemporary Gun Room Bar, lime green chandeliers in the brasserie, geometric wall paper in the library which all work seamlessly together. It doesn’t stop there the bedrooms are all fabulous, I was able to visit a few different ones, all different sizes and each and everyone so different yet so similar. The interior design team that came up with the style concepts worked their magic to make Eynsham Hall beautiful inside and out. All coming together to make Eynsham Hall the dream wedding venue.

Getting married at Eynsham Hall

It’s very popular now for couples to choose not to marry in a Church or Registry Office. Eynsham Hall offer the alternative to marry in a civil ceremony within one of their 4 licensed locations. The Red Room, The Library, on the outside Terrance and the Duberley Room.

There is a charge of £495 for you to be able to hold your civil ceremony, vow renewal or even blessing at Eynsham Hall. Plus of course the registrars fees that are payable direct to them. Within the ceremony room hire charge Eynsham Hall offer a complimentary flower display for the registrar’s table.

If you choose the Platinum Package the room hire for your Civil Ceremony, vow renewal or blessing is included within the costings.

Choosing the perfect reception room

At Eynsham Hall there are various different rooms that you can have your wedding reception in.

Eynsham Hall Green Room

The Green Room is the largest of the private rooms you can hire for your wedding. It gets it’s name from the green colours throughout the room. It’s a really impressive room, with large windows looking out over the beautiful gardens. The Green Room can accommodate up to 100 guests for a sit down wedding breakfast, however if you are looking for more informal standing buffet then 170 guests can be catered for. The private bar for the Green Room is the Library that is attached, more seating is added to it for your guests to move away from the evening entertainment.

The Red Room is a gorgeous room set at the end of the manor, it has large windows over looking the gardens. With space to cater for up to 80 guests for a seated meal or 120 for a standing buffet. The Red Room is also attached to the Library for the private bar.

The Library is just how you would imagine, a gorgeous old Library with a splash of modern. The Library can seat up to 50 guests and is also used for the private bar area when you have The Green or Red Rooms for your wedding.

The Duberley Room is the perfect location for the more intimate wedding. It holds up to 40 people and looks out over the Champagne Terrance and Grounds. The Duberley Room is the latest to be granted a Wedding license and for me I think it is my favourite of all the rooms. I love that you could have only a few guests but be able to have such a fabulous venue. So many other venues have a minimum number of guests, that smaller wedding parties are not made quite so welcome.

Booking the perfect wedding band on a budget with Headliner….

When planning your perfect wedding day, you start with setting a budget, which honestly goes out of the window after you fall in love with your must have venue. Then you start looking for a photographer, choosing the suits, the all important dress, the list is endless and your budget keeps changing or things get reduced. So to save some extra you decide that you will have your cousin who thinks he’s the worlds best DJ to sort out the disco for you in the evening, knowing that it will all go horribly wrong, yet you’re hoping the drinks will be in full flow for people to notice to much. However when you look back and think about the evening music, you will regret not having what you really want…. a live band… a good live band…. no an amazing live band.

My Hubby is a drummer, he loves music it’s something that is always being played in our house, he is also loves live music. He says nothing sounds better than a live band or musician, they make an event, especially a wedding. Now there is nothing wrong with having a disco if that’s what you want, but why not WOW your guests with an amazing live performance, it’s not as expensive or as difficult as you think.

Headliner is the perfect place to start looking for a wedding band, they believe that finding the perfect band for your wedding shouldn’t be a stressful task, it should be affordable and it should be reliable. Headliner started when husband and wife team Stan and Maria struggled to find the perfect band for their wedding but also being on a budget. They wanted to make finding the perfect band for your wedding so much easier than spending hours searching the internet for someone, only to find they are way out of the budget or live they don’t actually sound very good.

Booking with Headliner

Finding your perfect band couldn’t be easier using Headliner. Just have an idea of the type about the genre of music you like or even an artist, add in your location, your event type and search what they have for you. I did a quick search for a random Saturday in June next year, with only a budget of £500 and it gave me 520 results of artists that would be available within my budget. If you have a bigger budget then you can add a higher price range and edit your criteria to you. Choosing your artist you then request a quote for the date, your artist will then email you back with details within 48 hours, if you decide to book then you pay a deposit via their secure online booking system. It’s really that easy. And not forgetting their price guarantee match for all other online competitors.

Not only price match they also guarantee that whatever happens you will have an artist arrive for your wedding even if your chosen one is unable to attend. They have yet to a band not turn up for a booked event but they will ensure that if one does not arrive they will you get one that is as near genre that you have chosen as possible and as quickly as possible. So all you have to worry about is enjoying your wedding day and throwing some shapes on the dance floor.

It’s not only bands

Headliner is so much more than just finding that perfect band for your wedding reception, you can find the harpist, the string quartet for walking down the aisle too or back ground music during the wedding breakfast. They also offer magicians, singing waiters, roaming bands, caricaturists and even acrobatics. So Headliner really is your one stop shop to finding all the entertainment you require for your big day.

*This post has been made in collaboration with Headliner, as always thoughts and opinions are my own.*

Charlie & Stu’s Barnsdale Hall Hotel Wedding

I have been planning on doing a real wedding series for a while now, so I thought there was no better way to start than with my best friends wedding.

Charlie and Stu had been together for 5 years, when they got engaged on 1st July 2010. It was something lots of us thought would never happen, including Charlie. They had already been living together for 4 years and had just had their second son. Having almost a 2 year engagement before the big day in May 2012. Charlie decided to book the wedding on Stu’s birthday so he would not be able to forget their anniversaries in the future!

The Venue

Barnsdale Hall Hotel Wedding

Having chosen Barnsdale Hall Hotel, a beautiful location right on the edge of Rutland water. They opted for a civil ceremony that took place in the Edith Weston Suite, within the grounds of the Hall. With the beautiful sounds of a violin and a flute, playing Pachelbel’s Canon in D, as Charlie walked down the aisle. Accompanied by her Dad, Maid of honour (which just so happened to be me) and Mia, her 6 year old flower girl.

The Wedding Dress

Charlie wore a stunning fit and flare lace gown by designer Maggie Sottero. The gown was lined with a champagne coloured taffeta and had a beautiful ivory lace overlay, with a long tulle train. Along with ivory shoes and a crystal hair brooch that sat along side her vintage style up do. Make-up was completed by a lovely local make up artist, who also completed make up for Charlie’s Mum and me.

The Bridal Party

Charlie’s bridal party was made up of her maid of honour and a flower girl. I wore a stunning cornflower blue full length dress. I carried a posey of peach Vendela roses with ivory flowers that were hand tied with beautiful lace. Mia her 6 year old flower girl wore a Next ‘Occassion’ dress with floating petals layered into the dress. Mia carried a mini posey of blue hydrangeas and peach roses that matched Charlie’s.

The Grooms Party

Stu opted for 2 best men, Matt and Richard, they had all been best friends since childhood. Stu’s Brothers were both Ushers for the day, along with Stu and Charlie’s Dads completing the grooms party. They wore matching black morning suits with cornflower blue cravats and ivory waist coats, their button-holes were made of ivory roses.

The Colour Scheme

Charlie and Stu opted for a cornflower blue and ivory theme, with a vintage feel. Setting the tone of the wedding with an ivory and blue invitation. The flowers were blue hydrangeas and ivory and peach Vendela roses. Along with candelabras as the table centres with blue and clear crystals scattered on the tables. Each of the tables were named after different types of roses. The top table being Vendela which was the rose used in the bouquets and button holes. The name place cards were hand written by Charlie, they all had little blue roses on them, tying to the colour scheme. The children were kept entertained with personalised activity packs.

The Wedding Breakfast

The Wedding breakfast was a 3 course sit down meal consisting of smoked salmon and prawns, Charlie’s favourite starter. Followed by a main course of roast beef and all the trimmings and a delicious cheesecake for pudding, Stu’s favourite. Guest sat at round tables of 8 people with a traditional top table, of parents, maid of honour, best men and of course the bride and groom.

Barnsdale Hall Hotel Wedding

The beautiful wedding cake was made up of 3 tiers, each tier being a different flavour. One fruit, one chocolate and one lemon. It was covered in ivory icing, topped with roses and trailing cornflower blue petals. The style of the cake complimented the look of the wedding and tasted delicious, it was even served at a BBQ the following day.

As it was Stu’s birthday he was given a transformers birthday cake during the speeches and everyone sang Happy Birthday to him. Charlie and Stu finished off the lovely speeches giving out gifts. The groomsmen where all given transformers cufflinks. While the mothers were given beautiful floral bouquets. I was given a lovely rose pandora charm for my bracelet while Mia was given a charm for her nominations bracelet.

The Evening Do

Their evening guests where welcomed with a yummy hog roast, that was cooked all day outside, along with drinks and a great disco. To keep the children entertained throughout the day and into the evening there was a bouncy castle, which was a brilliant idea. It kept the children busy and allowed the parents to sit around it on the outside tables and enjoy the day.

The Honeymoon

Charlie and Stu spent a week in Sorento in Italy. Opting for a stay in a luxury hotel for a child free week, while their children stayed at home with the Grandparents. They are hoping to return for their 10th wedding anniversary.
