Summer tends to be the most popular time for people to get married, because it’s warm, dry, and the sun makes everything look better. So you may find that you have an invitation or two this year. This can be a very exciting time because it means you get to go shopping to find something pretty, but having said that, if you’re not much of a fashion shopper and more of a grocery shopper, then you may find it a little bit difficult.
One of the hardest things to learn, is how to dress for your body, as it’s important to know that not everything will look good with your shape, and some things are a lot better suited.
Here are some of the best summer wedding tips.
Dresses are your go-to
No matter how old you are, or what shape you are, dresses are always in. There are so many different styles and designs and materials, that you are guaranteed to find something made for you. Depending on what part you play in the wedding, will determine what kind of dress you have. For example, if you’re Mother of the Bride, you will want something beautiful and classy that asserts some power. You can shop online with stores to check out the kind of ideas that are already out there, just make sure you do this in advance because a lot of dresses have a limited availability on them. If you’re stuck for colours and patterns, floral always works wonderfully.
Consider a hat
Getting a hat for the wedding essentially works as killing two birds with one stone. You not only have an air of class about you, but you are also able to shade yourself from the hot scorching sun. Remember, it’s the summer, and the last thing you want is for your makeup to sweat down your face and have to keep popping to the bathroom to powder up again. A hat will also supply you with instant cooling relief at the same time. The size you opt for entirely depends on how big of a statement you want to make – the bigger, the more attention you will draw to yourself. If you’re not sure, then think about how it will look in photos with others – is it going to be so big that it blocks people out from the picture? If so, maybe go down a size or two.
Walk the walk
Shoes are the piece that tend to finish off the entire look, and while you may be looking at the most stunning pair of stilettos that would go perfectly with your outfit, ask yourself one question – will you be able to walk in them? No matter how good a pair looks, if you’re walking like you’ve just had an accident, then you won’t do them justice. It’s very easy to underestimate how hard walking in heels is when you try them on in the shop – until you have to do it for hours on end. So make a good judgment call, and if you’re not sure about what to do, then drop an inch until you are sure.
