Living more sustainably

Of course grow your own. Its something that has been around for a long time, right back hundred or even thousands of years. People would only eat what they could grow. Now people might not have the space or the time to grow everything, however you could start with something small. Maybe a single plant and see how they get on. We have gone from growing strawberries to having a large vegetable patch growing a lot of our own veg.

Sounds simple but don’t waste food. I know that I’m terrible for doing the food shopping and not planning out meals out properly. Which often leads to us having excess food in the house, but with careful meal planning I will be able to reduce our food waste and also our food bills.

Eat less meat, my hubby will hate me for saying it but from the research I’ve been doing it shows that cutting down on the amount of meat you eat is on way to be more environmentally friendly.

When it comes to having food waste, instead of putting it in your bin then compost it. It is great for the gardens but also helps the environment but not having extra going into landfill.

Take food with you from home each day, make sure you use re-useable containers. This was you save money on ready made items and also on the packaging.

Ensure you take water bottles with you everywhere, it again saves on plastic bottle and save your bank account.
