Over the last few years it has become popular to send out ‘Save the date’ cards to your wedding guests. The idea is that you send them out to friends and family who you would like to attend your wedding, making them aware of your planned wedding date. As some people are now booking weddings 2-3 years in advance, making these cards a great idea. It’s also exciting to receive something like this through the post box. Instead of the usual takeaway menus and bills.
It wasn’t something the we did for our wedding. However over the last couple of years we have been receiving them over a year in advance of a wedding. I really like putting them the on the fridge to remind us of fun times ahead. I am someone who loves the added extra’s and place them in my keep sake box.
Save the date cards are generally just a note that gives your wedding date and very little other information. Details on venues and times would be on your official wedding invitation.
Your save the date cards don’t have to be themed to suit the style of your wedding. As at this stage you might not have any confirmed themes.
I love how save the date cards are now available is many different styles. There are so many to choose from. Note cards, business cards, fridge magnets, pencils, luggage labels and postcards to name a few.
If you have booked your wedding in advance, make sure your chosen guests are free by sending out a lovely save the date card.
What style would you choose?
